The unit was very nicely renovated and everything was very neat and clean. The location was quiet which we were grateful that it provided a good night's rest. There is a kitchenette that is nicely furnished as well.... we only stayed one night but this unit would work well for anyone who was in the area to spend a few days and wanted to prepare some of their own meals. Although, I will say it is in a location that made it very easy to get to great restaurants.... and site seeing locations.

We stayed 3 nights. Without a doubt, a house to which we will gladly return. Very clean, functional, modern, with large windows and curtains in every room that darken the "nights" of Anchorage. Easy check in/check out. Very well located, a few minutes from the Northern Lights Blvd that connects the city center, shopping centers and the Alaska St Hwy 1 aka Seward Highway In a quiet neighborhood, located on a street with no through traffic and a forest right in front of the house. A very well-kept backyard, with leafy and mature trees (from the deck, just 25 ft from us, we saw a family of Moose. Mom, Dad with large and massive antlers and their calf ). Everything you may need can be found in the living, dining, kitchen (huge freezer-fridge), or in each of the 3 very comfortable bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms. Downstairs, a cozy office with an extra flat TV, sofa and laundry. The contact with the hosts was very fluid and always with a kind word which made us feel welcoming and at home.

The place is a fish market and a small market. Very accessible to public transport. We rented a car from the airport and it took us just 20 mins by bus to get to the airport. It is also quiet and serene. Definitely a good choice for vacation and if you plan to get seafood to eat at home. 15 mins walk to downtown in a cool day is a plus!

Great last minute stay with my family! Needed somewhere to stay for a night before driving to Seward! Nice house and comfy beds! So grateful I was able to get a last minute booking at an awesome place! Would come back again!

Perfect spot for the week of work we had in Alaska. All the hotels were either sold out or 500+ dollars a night and this place was perfect and didnt break the bank double plus!!!! Hosts were super friendly abd accommodating! We will for sure stay here again for future stays when traveling for work! thanks for sharing your space with us!

Our visit to Anchorage, Alaska was full of much wonder and joy. The hospitality at the UMD Polar Penthouse was wonderful. Having a clean welcoming place to rest after a busy day is always the hope. The Polar Penthouse was that place for our family. Clean, roomy, and a fully furnished kitchen made it easy for us to gather groceries and prepare a healthy, inexpensive meal. We are very grateful for the hospitality offered to us for the five days we stayed in Anchorage. Were we to have an opportunity to visit Anchorage again, we would happy to revisit the Polar Penthouse!

Whitney’s place was exactly what we needed. A clean, spacious, easy landing place for our arrival in Anchorage. The close proximity to the airport, easy access to everything in Anchorage, and overall hassle-free experience made what was otherwise a difficult start to our trip significantly easier. 5 stars.
